Sporting and media recognition

Show jumping is at the heart of the CWD brand, and despite being the leading event of equestrian sports, show jumping, and riding more generally, often lacks media coverage and is not understood by members of the general public.

In contrast, when the sport is broadcast to a new, wider audience, the beauty and intensity of the classes as well as the harmony between the rider and horse combination often offer unrivalled emotions. This is why the Olympic Games are so important for not only riders but for sports fans in general. The Olympic Games are a unique opportunity to showcase their discipline, to promote their profession, and to make the bond they have developed with their horse irreplaceable.

Moreover, an Olympic individual or team victory is an eternal achievement. An achievement that marks not only the life of the rider, but of their groom, their horse, their owners, their sponsors, etc. No competition, no victory can replace the sacred Olympic title.
It is the holy grail and is so unparalleled that books and films are often written about Olympic medal-winning performances.

CWD riders on the road to Tokyo

Although the final selections are not yet known, it is more than likely that many CWD riders will be taking part in this exceptional competition. For several weeks, lists have been revealed by the national federations and CSIO shows are getting underway again so that the world’s best riders can test themselves as a team and identify their strengths before the great Olympic event.
