Having only arrived on the international show jumping scene in 2018, Brian Moggre is already overshadowing the world's greatest riders. With panache and determination, the young American prodigy divides his time between Wellington, Florida and Lexington, Kentucky. More recently, we have been able to meet Brian on the European shows. Just to rub shoulders with a new competition. It must be said that the young man seems to have no fear of anything!
At only 20 years old, he has been present since his youngest age in the biggest competitions and has won several times, but it is in March 2019 that he revealed himself to the public by winning the World Cup Grand Prix of the CSI 3*-W in Ocala, USA. A first significant victory which will lead him to the summits and the most beautiful shows of the planet: the CSIO5* of Sopot, the CSIOY of Opglabbeek, the World Cup of Lexington... Such a rise that Brian Moggre is offered the precious grail of the American team.
Named as reserve rider for the U.S. team for the Tokyo Olympics, he is now a mainstay of his team as the U.S. won the Nations Cup at the legendary CHIO Aachen. He himself finished second in the legendary Grand Prix of Aachen in his very first participation in a Rolex Grand Slam show jumping event.
Brian Moggre realized these many achievements notably with his fabulous Balou du Reventon (Cornet Obolensky x Continue), formerly ridden by Darragh Kenny. This 14-year-old stallion already had many victories at the highest level before arriving in Brian Moggre's stables. He has allowed him to continue to rise to the highest level. He talks about it with emotion and professionalism "Riding Balou is a bit surreal because it is certainly not a horse that I thought I would have the opportunity to ride! This horse has already had such a great career! Being a young professional, it's amazing to see Ann (his owner) supporting the next generation and American riders. My main goal is to continue to achieve success for Balou and to really work as a team. Together with Ann, we will do everything in Balou's best interest.”
Brian Moggre is fortunate to be surrounded by many people, including Laura Kraut and Nick Skelton, with whom he trains. Laura Kraut is also a member of the U.S. Show Jumping Team. Thanks to her role as a supporter and coach, Laura often accompanies Brian on the shows while Nick Skelton, Olympic champion with Big Star in Rio in 2016, ensures the continuation of the young prodigy's career.
These two great riders share with him their expertise and their knowledge of high-level competition and the longevity of a sporting career. This support allows him to remain humble and focused on his career, which is just beginning.
He is also very close to Jessica Springsteen. Young rider and member of the American show jumping team. This American team is very united, talented and ambitious. A dynamic that allows the Americans to achieve many performances like their silver medal at the Olympic Games in Tokyo and their victory in the Nations Cup of the CHIO in Aachen.
There is no doubt that the young American prodigy is a rising star in show jumping and that these performances will be followed closely.
